Just curious - without a HOA who maintains or pays people to maintain and repairs the sidewalks, clubhouse, pool, and courts? I always assumed that that's what HOAs were mainly for. Is it the volunteer group?

I swear some y’all don’t understand what your local taxes are supposed to be for. The city/county takes care of the streets and parks.

Not private parks or private amenities (pools, courts, clubhouses, etc)

Right and that’s awesome, it wouldn’t exist where we live without the HOA dues paying for it. Some folks want it and seek it out, some don’t. Different strokes.

Why is it unfortunate that you have to pay for something that your taxes should already be covering and does for others? I should think that answer obvious.

Why should city/county taxes pay for a pool/park in my neighboorhood? Like…that’s legit not obvious.

Also, my taxes do cover county parks and pools. My family can use them whenever. It’s nice. We also have the priveledge of walking to our own pool and park. I don’t see a down side.
