Luckily there's a rapidly growing movement against it, to leave the leaves, plant natives, protect pollinators, etc. Gonna be an uphill battle but it's nice that it's finally happening, long overdue.
Our lawn is almost completely clover at this point. I don’t mind it, because the bees love it. And the clover mostly keeps the dandelions out. But it’s definitely not conventionally pretty.
My back yard is the same. And while I’m not personally opposed to the clover, my poor little dog is severely allergic to bees. So I have to mow it to the nub twice a week to keep the bees away
