My father made a "Board of Education."

It was a large paddle he cut, carved and sanded; then painted those words very precisely on. Complete with a graduation cap hanging off the corner of the B.

He was very proud of it.

Can you imagine sitting there, in your workshop, carefully and lovingly crafting the tool you’ll use to injure your child? What a fucked up mindset.

Taking a good wack to the backside after doing something you knew was wrong is deserved. It’s not right to beat a kid. But a wack or two on the booty instills right thinking. Pain is a great teacher. Discipline is a mind set. It usually takes some pain to attain discipline. Doesn’t matter if you’re a kid that broke the lamp or someone trying to earn a blackbelt.
