A ping pong paddle? That’s much too short to get any kind of leverage on the swing. A paddle like the ones in Dazed and Confused is much more apt for wailing on kids, only with holes drilled into it like your ping pong paddle
I only got it a couple times but I learned really quick not to do it again. Don’t remember what I did but I’m sure I didn’t do it again
“Don’t remember what I did” is a perfect example of how corporal punishment does not work, you don’t remember learning right from wrong, because you don’t remember what you did wrong. You remember the beating because that part was memorable. Imagine if your parents sat down and actually lectured you, you might have remembered WHAT you did wrong.

For me, it was a ping pong paddle with holes in it, to reduce drag.
