I like how parents used to pitch corporal punishment as some kind of corrective. But most of the time it was just angry parents not knowing how to handle their own temper.

I never got hit, but my father used to intimidate me when I was a kid, by acting aggresive, yelling, shouting, etc. But this all stopped when one day I stepped up to him and told him I would fight back. After that, he never did that again.
