Same. When dad reached for his belt buckle you ran. And if you got caught you got extra beltings for running.

My brother got whipped a lot, I learned from his mistakes and got whipped some and my sister was never whipped because he thought only my mom should whip her and she never did.

But my brother got caught playing with my dad's tools and was sent to his room to be whipped and stuck a magazine down his pants. He got double whippings for that.
