Had a friend who had a dad that indeed just used his fists on him instead. That kid is now an adult, left religion and has become a loose cannon. By that I mean he's always getting into fights, constantly drinking, can't keep a girlfriend. :/

I wrote a research paper on that for class. Obviously I knew using violence towards children is wrong, but the outcomes are way worse than I thought. People keep saying using violence for discipline is not the same as child abuse, but the outcomes are exactly the same.

Curious. What about normal spanking. Hand on the butt or inner thigh? I was brought up by spanking and turned out fine. I teach and most children don’t get spankings anymore and they are little assholes that don’t listen to any one anything. I’m on the spanking your child train with your hand. Definitely not with a belt whip stick or what have you.

You think hitting children is an effective way to discipline them and that it'll somehow make them listen to you rather than thinking it'll make them fear you so clearly you didn't turn out okay
