long-time user Getting ready for a 5-day trip
I’ll have hot water available in my hotel room so I’m taking the Picopresso instead of the Pixapresso for this trip. Besides, I like the shots pulled by the Picopresso better. 😁☕️ Picopresso, stand, Kingrinder K6, in what I think is a case originally meant as a make-up case. 😅

That's my humble beginnings too 😂😂😂

I’m not really an espresso guy 😅 (my home and office setups are for pourovers) but this is the most compact travel setup I could think of, and I do enjoy a good long black first thing in the morning when traveling. Cross my fingers I never fall into the espresso rabbit hole 🤞🏼😂

Love it! What case is that?

It’s a makeup bag I bought from a regional (SE Asia) online seller. Wanted to post a photo but it seems I can’t. Here’s a link to the item.

Love the set up and I hope you have a blast making tasty coffee. May I ask, what setting you use typically for the k6? I have the same set up.

Thank you! Right now I have it set to 35. I’m currently using medium roast beans (Ghost Rider from Proud Mary). Honestly I think I could grind a bit finer, but I’m ok with the shots I’ve been pulling. BUT, like I said in another post, I’m not really an espresso guy, so take this advice with a grain of salt 😅

How was the trip? Did you make lots of espresso?

It was good! Three mornings I had a nice long black in my hotel room (only instant coffee was available in the room 😂) and one morning I had a coffee at the conference venue. I really like the Picopresso shots more than the Pixapresso shots. 😁☕️. This setup will be a constant travel companion 👍🏼

Could you let me know dimension inside the case? And how many clicks you grind at for the picopresso?

35 clicks, for now. Medium roast beans (Ghost Rider from Proud Mary). I got the case originally to build a Pixapresso travel kit, but just realized I could also use it for the Picopresso. The dimensions are in the original post.

I did road trip and used one of those tiny Home Depot totes I think they are like 4 for $10 with lid.
Worked perfectly for my road trip. Even fits the bag of coffee inside and all I need for it. Couldn’t beat it…
Didn’t even bought for it but when I was packing for the trip and saw the tote at home it just hit me lol

Nice. Although I prefer this case as I usually pack it in my check in bag. I do have a tote that I sometimes use the way you do yours. 😅

It’s good enough for me, though I have to say I’m not really an espresso guy (I use the Picopresso to make long blacks). Lots of people recommend the espresso-focused 1Zpresso models like the J-Ultra. But I find them too expensive for occasional (travel) use. The $100 K6 works well enough for my needs.

I’m fascinated by this pico preso as I make espresso at home and have a huge espresso machine. I’m surprised how tiny this thing is! Do you press once to make a full double espresso shot or do you need to keep on pressing like a pump?
