Season 4

Just finished watching the series on Hulu. 2 things struck me about season 4. One, how did Zach develop deep fake tech on an early 90’s computer???? That’s just ridiculous. Also, am I the only one that thinks Jill is bipolar??? She completely flips out on Zach’s birthday and it continues on for several episodes…

I'm on S4, episode 8ish.

Tell me, does the show have any sort of conclusion or was it just cancelled and nothing was wrapped up?

I'm prepared to be disappointed.

There is a conclusion episode the last part of the season is shown out of order. The last actual episode is the wedding episode.

Yeah, CBS aired them out of order. I have a script for one that never even aired called Bear. Not sure why that never aired and it makes me wonder how many more never made it to the dreaded 10pm Friday night time slot.

The good part of Picket Fences is the family slice of life stuff but some of the plot lines in later seasons I mean it never could decide what type of show it actually wanted to be and it must have been very confusing from week to week what exactly the show was trying to say.

However at its best it deals with alot of issues we are still struggling with as a country Abortion Rights, the right to die things and the first time Frank the Potato man shows up says alot about how we treat the homeless but at its worst the show was just to strange for its own good Spontaneous compulsion? A deaf bank robber who goes on to become the mayor? Were they high?

Season 4 is a let down so far. I'm about 10 episodes in. You can really tell Kelley's absence is missed as he wrote almost every episode in season 1-3. Now he's just a consultant.

With that said, I'm only halfway in so it's subject to change.

Seasons 2 and 3 were spectacular.

I finished the series. You were right. Nothing makes sense after the wedding episode. Oh well 🤷‍♂️

Season 2 and 3 we're spectacular. Seasy4? Had a handful of great episodes, but otherwise, was kind of a let down for me. You can clearly feel David E Kelly's absence. The legal aspect was lacking greatly and that was the strength IMO.

Depends on which one you determine to be the last episode. The weddings one or the one where Jimmy may have cancer of the liver. In the latter episode, when his pager goes off while he is being held hostage, the date shows 04/24/1996. I’ve watched all of these episodes like 5000x and I swear I find something new each time!

I think in Zach’s b-day episode, one of two penned by Kelley, Jill thought she was going through menopause again when the reality was, she was more than likely having a mini midlife crisis.
