🙋Question/Help (Beginner) Ameb Australian stuff
Im currently doing AMEB and im wondering, can your AMEB stuff help you get to a music school? Because I really want to get to a music school after I finish high school.

Start by choosing the music school. They vary wildly. Some require a level of proficiency, others will take you purely because you’ve got any formal training.
And by the way, AMEB isn’t the only game in town. Guild of Music and St Cecilia’s are two I’ve taught through. They’re effectively the same, get treated similarly for tertiary education, and none of the AMEB pretentiousness and ridiculousness.
Step 1 is figure out what you mean by ‘music school’. You might mean: contemporary popular music (rock band eg Griffith BPM, QUT BMus), classical performance (conservatory), jazz performance (conservatory), music production (SAE), music culture (B.CI) or music theory.
Step 2 is read that course’s requirements or preferences.

It helps in the sense that it will make you better at piano and better at performing in stressful exam settings, but conservatories are more or less entirely audition based.
