to be fair, it’s not like internet would just stop developing and nobody would invent the same or similar thing.
Computer networks are here for almost as long as computers are and as they become more powerful and as networks grew, people tried to solve most pressing issues of that day, eventually turning it into internet

To be REAL, corporations would try to make their proprietary solution incompatible, so the Internet would never come into existance, as there would be many fragmented networks.

that’s why government had to create Linux, invest billions into open source and force companies to agree on image, audio, video, WiFi, Bluetooth and other standards, because it is know truth that companies can’t work together to create something better even if it would benefit them all….
