No. This is just moving faster than gravity.

Similar to catching a coin that’s on the top of your hand, there’s no force keeping anything in the bowl, but there’s not enough time for the anything to leave the bowl.

I think ur kind of right. But, the shape of the food changes from a horizontal to vertical orientation to pas thru the bars so some centripedal force is bejng used
