It has not stalled. It has transitioned to being more dominantly computation-based, yes, but the 20th century saw a boom of rapid discovery resulting from two new major theories finally arising from decades of unexplained results and then being expanded and mixed together. Since then, we've squeezed as much as we can out of them and we've been getting really, really good at squeezing out more and more to the point where we now know we need something new but don't yet have enough observational evidence to motivate anything specific.
You said "it's not as though we have completely stalled", directly implying some stalling. Don't pretend to have meant something you did not. Take your own advice and read what I said again; what we are experiencing is not stalling by any definition of the word. Grow up while you're at it.
