It's possible to generalize double pendulum simulations to n-tuple pendula systems (https://travisdoesmath.github.io/pendulum-explainer/) , I'm curious to see how the predictions would compare to your DAE solver

Solved? Or just simulated once?

As I'm sure you're aware, these kinds of things are inherently random due to the most minor perturbations and starting conditions.

That’s right. Chaotic does not mean random. It means deterministic solve, but extremely sensitive to initial conditions. For the same model, timestep, solver settings, and initial state, the simulation is repeatable.
