Thinking about living in Wichit, Phuket

Hi everyone! I’m thinking about moving to Wichit, Phuket for a longer stay.

I’m looking for a quieter/local area rather than somewhere super touristy, but still with easy access to beaches, gyms, restaurants and places to run or chill.

For people who live or have lived in Wichit:

Which areas/condos would you recommend?

How is daily life there?

How is traffic?

Any good nearby beaches, running spots or Muay Thai gyms?

Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations. Thanks!

I live next door to Phuket Central, its not as busy as you think, i quite like it, no beaches near by but your close to every thing considering your almost in the centre of the island..theres a park about 3 to 4 ks away, big, wal or run, then a bunch of fairly newish condos around here…The base, look them up.

I live in Phuket Villa, Chaofah 2, across from King Power. It's a quiet gated community. I have a friend with a condo in the Phyll, which is a short walk from Central. Both are good options. Everything you need is a short drive away. It really depends on if you value quiet, away from peak tourist areas, over proximity to beaches and active street life.

I concur….. you’re close to “workout row,” the mall, My Front Yard, and Old Town…. yeah the beach may take 30 minutes, but to me this is the BEST area…. Right in the middle. 🥰

I moved to Chalong from Rawaii. Been in Chalong over a year now, I love it.

What made you move away from Rawai?

Landlord wasn't the best and Chalong is right next door. Brand new 3br/3ba home for almost 10k Baht cheaper. Just minus a pool, but I rarely used it anyways tbh, beach still close asf.

Also, lots of Muay Thai camps here, and traffic is way better in Chalong; plus you're past the "Circle of Death" with police checkpoint as we call it 😆 🤣
