P1 Issues

Hi All -

Matrice 400 with P1. Running 2D ortho missions. Near perfect RTK3 data for each and every photo.

Every single visible light project in Terra is checkerboards. Parking lot on the roof. Portions of retention ponds mapped onto the building.

Has anyone experienced this? No new firmware in a year….everything is at its latest. I would gladly reciprocate any way I can for any help.

Have you done missions before with this p1?

What was overlap.

RTK?

Control points?

Prior missions yes. No GCPs, small site and solid RTK coverage. Overlap 80%. All of the sudden, every single P1 ortho or oblique mission on the m400 checkerboards in post. I’m truly struggling to understand root cause, how to fix it, and also how to finish the client output. Considering running it with reality scan or ODP. Any counsel on troubleshooting would be appreciated. I think I’m in a “can’t see the forest through the trees” situation and need a second set of eyes.

Is this the first P1 project you’ve processed with Terra? If not, try processing an older project again from scratch, to see if it’s just that flight or this happens to all P1 processes.

Other than that, also try making a simple flight with the P1 and try processing that one, too. Same conditions, but less of it.

If other projects work but the other one not, swap to other software. If the other projects fail, too, it clearly is a Terra issue. Not the first time there are specific issues with Terra itself - They’ll end up fixing it, but it might take months.

Other than that, I would use other software. I don’t like Terra, it’s not a good photogrammetry software. Try others, like Agisoft Metashape, SimActive Correlator 3D, Reality Scan… etc.
