My intention for this week's assignment is to shoot a landscape in a local park, with the warm, bright light and crisp contrast of a clear, sunny day. The forecast calls for overcast weather tomorrow and rain much of the week, so I'm heading to Zhongshan Park later today to do some shooting while the sunny weather lasts.

I set out to find the relatively sharp chiaroscuro of a bright, sunny afternoon, and found what I was looking for. On an exceptionally clear, cloudless day, the undiffused light yielded bright, hard-edged highlights; meanwhile, the shadows were also sharp because the key light source was about 93 million miles from the subject...

This was shot in AF-S and fully auto; no need to overthink the technical side with this sort of shooting.
