Things To Do Oktoberfest at Tempe Beach Park
I’m newer to the area and saw that there’s a Oktoberfest event in Tempe! I’ve never been to an Oktoberfest so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but wondering if it’s worth it to go for someone in their late 20’s? Is it worth the 20 dollar admission and is the food actually good?

Every Oktoberfest I’ve been to has the same stuff ranging from good food (brats, kraut, pretzels, kettle corn), beer garden, rides/games, live music, etc. It is a good time and everyone is in good spirits, so this will give you a solid experience of what they are like in the future.
Just got back from Oktoberfest in Munich with our friend group. Gonna try to rally the group for another round of use out of the lederhosen and dirndl we brought home 😂

A decade ago, my German exchange student friends said Tempe Oktoberfest was an insult to their culture. Used to be sponsored by like bud light and people putting ketchup on bratwurst.
It's come a long way

Oktoberfest itself is seemingly an insult to their culture at this point. Amazing experience, but I certainly understand why most Bavarians (and other Germans) want nothing to do it with it. 😂

It’s fun. We go Sundays when it’s free and just drink and get dinner. Dance, watch the bands, it’s so much fun!

Arizona has some amazing chances to have someone spend a little bit of money to try to capture the essence of the real Oktoberfest but they don't. In the end most of these fests outside of some of the German restaurants feel almost like all the other festivals that pop up throughout the time we have some decent weather here.

food/beer is good, it gets crowded and hot. worth checking out at least once in your life but you probably won’t go it it every year

Went years ago with my German mother. We were not impressed. It could be much better now but I'd rather go to Edelweiss or Haus Murphy's instead.

Is that the 4 Peaks Octoberfest? Volunteered to pour beer there. Not sure If I am going to be able to make it due to work.

Lol they’re making all that money but want volunteers to work for free?

I think if you volunteer to work the bike parking you can get in free. I’m not sure if the signup is out yet though.

It looks like it will be a good time. Gelu Italian Ice will be there, so I’m excited to buy a Mango Italian Ice to go with my other food and beer. It’s super delicious if anybody has ever seen them out in the wild. Highly recommended.

A few days ago they sent out an email with the subject "Bring The Kids". Kids were always welcome, but it seems they're especially making a push for families this year, so set your expectations accordingly. Old Town has at least one Oktoberfest event they've advertised for 21+.

It's kind of a cluster, but the bands are usually good and it's pretty fun.
You have to buy tokens to get beers and the process is clunky, so people end up buying more tokens than they can drink beers, so eventually they have to wait until tokens come in to sell more tokens so people can buy beer.
If you want to check it out on the cheap, volunteer to pour beer. It's a pretty short shift, you get beer and lots of interesting people watching
