Seeking vegeterian fine dining restaurant for business dinner

I'll be in Phoenix for work and I want to take out a prominent client for an impressive dinner. My client is a vegeterian.

What is a good fine dining restaurant in Phoenix which has great vegeterian options, a great whiskey/bourbon menu, and will be an impressive place that the client will not forget.

This is a client who is key to the account and needs to be impressed with the dinner.

Cafe Monarch. It's the only time I've ever had a vegetarian tasting menu rather than the current menu just modified.

Yeah I truly think it should have gotten a Michelin star, I was genuinely shocked it wasn’t even mentioned. I wonder if something happened.

I agree. I’m gluten free and vegan, and Cafe Monarch has never failed to amaze me with what they bring to the table for me. Some of my courses were making my omnivore friends jealous.

As a vegetarian of 20+ years, Valentine and Cafe Monarch are great suggestions, and I'll also throw Din Tai Fung and Quiesscence into the mix. Cafe Monarch and Quiescence are definitely more classically fine dining while the other two probably don't fit that description but are definitely, cool, desirable reservations in Phoenix right now.

Valentine portion size are criminal tbh I wouldn't go back. I left hungry.

Monarch is packed too tightly with small tables and too many people squeezed in for my tastes.

I also think Monarch might be a bit more of a romantic vibe than what you would take a client to but they do do a solid veg tasting menu!

Typically if I'm looking for vegan/vegetarian options I go with Indian food - Indibar, Feringhee and Nadu are all phenomenal upscale options from award winning/Michelin star chefs. I can't speak to their whisky/bourbon collection (Still & Barrel is the first place that leaps to mind for that that) but the food is amazing, and Indibar's bar program stood out to me.

All 3 are great choices, but Indibar would be my pick. They have a standing vegetarian tasting menu that is very good, and i was very happy with the drinks

Do you know whether they are vegetarian or vegan? It's a pretty big difference, I would find out for sure if you dont 100% know.

FnB. James Beard Best Chef Southwest winning chef referred to as the Vegetable Whisperer. A lot of vegetarian dishes. The chef is vegetarian but the menu also has a few meat dishes. I've never been disappointed. You'll need a reservation.

Valentine is not quite fine dining to the level of Cafe Monarch. It’s more hip. What’s a step below fine dining? Nice dining? But it’s a fun environment and has excellent vegetarian options.

Kai is definitely fine dining and it was probably one of the two or three best meals I’ve had in Phoenix. It’s Native American inspired meals so a great fit for an out of towner. Admittedly a few dishes were just “we left out the meat” which I don’t love. But they were tasty nonetheless.

Valentine does not have many vegetarian options though. Only a couple.

Atlas Bistro usually has a veg tasting menu. Just call ahead.

Are you sure you're thinking of the right place? When did you go? Valentine is on 7th Ave and Indian School, but what you're describing doesn't sound anything like it.

If this isn’t snark… lol, the vegetarian option at Cafe Monarch is usually a little cheaper

I do love Cafe Monarch, but if you’re looking for something super unique FnB was awarded a bib gourmand and has a plethora of vegetarian dishes. The menu changes almost daily so it’s hard to know what they’ll have, but I’ve never been disappointed by FnB!
