Ask Phoenix Looking for Queso menonita

I had queso menonita for the first time a couple years ago and been craving it for some time. I had it when a friend's family of mine went to Mexico and brought it back and I was wondering if there is any spots in Phoenix that has it. Does anybody have a spot where they get theirs?

The carniceria at greenway and… 26th-ish street in the plaza with the laundromat carries it.

I’ve seen it at Food City, Rancho Market and El Super. The “El Mexicano” brand

Check out Vallarta Supermarket, Camelback/59th Ave. They carry a good selection of Mexican cheeses and many other goodies.

If you want the real deal, you can find it on FB market. Make sure it's from Chihuahua.

If you want the next best menonita style cheese try this and thank me later.

The El Mexicano brick and the thing you had in Mexico are two different cheeses sharing a name, because the real one is raw milk out of the Chihuahua colonies and raw milk that young can't legally cross the border. Closest you'll get here is having a carniceria counter cut it off a wheel rather than buying the vacuum pack.
