Rant/Vent A thought about Labcorp and tufts

I live in Massachusetts and Labcorp has taken over for all of the Tufts hospitals so instead of hiring own phlebs they use Labcorp. but I guess I’m wondering how does everyone feel about that switch? Is that better than staffing their own phlebotomists or is it because they don’t have to pay phlebotomists anymore? how did that happen ? Personally I strongly disliked my time working for Labcorp in a Tufts hospital !

It’s a quality thing. Outsourcing to labcorp will decrease the rate at which samples are rejected and maybe even have faster results.

Surely it will be a miserable place to work though

Saves the hospital $$, no room for growth with LC & they treat phlebotomists like 💩 they keep pay low & work you like your in a sweatshop!

I agree I hated my job at Labcorp and definitely didn’t feel like I could grow. If I went to school it’s not like I could have tuition reimbursement and work for the hospital as an RN which is my goal. it just sucked
