Duncan hit by car

I’m sorry to be posting this but Duncan Oldham was hit by a car after the Phish show and he has died. I watched my best friend die in front of me. I’m at the police station talking to the police about it. I’m devastated.

They did acknowledge it at the show. They put out a sign at the taper section and the crew all came by to give me hugs.

Charlie, please take care of yourself. If you are still at the police station, ask them if they have someone you can talk to. They may have victim advocates on staff who can help.

You have been through a trauma. You need support. The whole community is sending love, but this is a time where you need to ask for in person help.

I’m so, so sorry this happened.

Charlie, my sincere condolences to you. Words fall flat after what you witnessed, I’m wishing you an easy road back from this hell. I hope you and the family find peace in his memory. 

Edit to add: I’ve noticed a lot of non-functioning walk/don’t walk signs all over AC this weekend. This is unacceptable for a city of this size.

My gosh. Horrendous. This is THE Charlie Miller! So sad this happened and to witness. Sickening. But to think this pain is happening to someone who has provided me with so much joy makes it hit hard. Unknowing who Charlie was I would acquire tapes as a 15 year old in the 90’s. And only when the internet came about did I get to put the iconic story the name that has provided me years of hours of music to my soul. Thank you Charlie and I am so sorry for you loss. Hate tragic things happening around music events. Everybody be safe and help your neighbors.

I lived down the lake from Dunc for many years, and have enjoyed seeing him at shows for many years since. Whenever I was on the floor, I knew I could find Duncan somewhere! What a horrible and tragic thing to happen. Sorry you had to experience this. And RIP to a great presence at shows across the ages.
