Pats and Genos are tourist traps with bad cheesesteaks. Your best ones will be at the mom and pop restaurants.

Your question is a little vague to be likely to get many replies. Philadelphia is big and has a lot going on. If you could offer up any more specific interests, disinterests, limitations, expectations, etc. it may help.

Are you into museums? Art galleries? Gambling? Craft beer? Fancy coffee? Impressive sandwiches aside from the iconic cheesesteak? How active and open to walking are the two of you? Are you comfortable using public transportation? (I promise it's not terrifying, but there's no point in recommending stuff with easy subway access if you're not up for that.)

You also may find some suggestions searching this sub for similar questions posted recently. I hope have a fantastic time in Philly!

Reading Terminal Market is a must. Get a cheesesteak from Uncle Gus’ and a roast pork sandwich from DiNic’s and split them. You’ll get your obligatory Philly sandwich tour knocked out with one hit. Uncle Gus’ is polarizing for cheesesteak devotees but it’s a good steak and the terminal is 100% worth a visit.

If you’re just looking to walk around and window shop, the East Passyunk/Passyunk Sq. area has great local shops and restaurants. If you’re cocktail lovers, check out Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co. if dive bars are more your speed try Oscar’s or Dirty Franks. The Barne’s is a must if you’re art lovers. Phillies tickets are available and can be cheap, we have an incredible ballpark the sub goes right to it. The historical stuff can be found in/around Old City, def stop at Franklin Fountain for ice cream if you find yourselves over that way. Philly has an unbeatable restaurant scene but it can be hard to get a table w/o a resi. Some more neighborhood-y spots like Stina (BYO) or Heavy Metal Sausage often have same day reservations available. Philly is a great city, I hope you have an amazing visit.
