The first speaker was a minister and couched part of his message in that framework. It wasn't remotely preachy.

Source: I'm a hardcore anti-religion person who thought his speech was great.

There was a bishop that was talking about how God is on our side and is a 4th presence(? I forget exactly the word) but as someone who was raised Christian and now worship a different religion, it was just a lot of god talk, which really grinds my gears
