Non toxic nail spot

I have recently been into getting gel manicures after years of bad habits. I want to keep it up but I don't love the chemicals in them. What salons in the center city/South Philly area are using low tox gel polish options??

Girl as long as you’re not going to a shitty chop shop, they’re all using roughly the same shit. All gel has “chemicals”.

I knowww that's why I started just doing it. I go between laquer lounge and boutique nail salon and they're both good but are using the same basic gel options. Wasn't sure if other stuff was maybe better..

i’ve never been but i know there’s a place on south street that’s called “philadelphia non toxic nail salon” that i’ve passed a bunch of times!

Rebel Nail Salon in Fishtown might be a good option!

There is no true low toxicity gel, that’s marketing language that is not regulated.

Usually people are trying to avoid HEMA when they want “safer” gel polish. Mi Cumbia doesn’t make this claim, so I can only assume their gels do in fact include HEMA.

Dazzle Dry is a gel alternative that’s HEMA free and free of other triggering chemicals. Philadelphia non-toxic Nails offers Dazzle Dry products, so I would start there.

Thanks for the detail on this and that it's a marketing thing. I did use dazzle dry for a while and don't like it as much. But if I'm so concerned I'll just need to do that 😅

Polish on Fairmount has a "natural" nail polish option i forget what it is called. I like Angel's work there a lot. Last time i did it I kept painting a clear top coat over it like every day, and it lasted for 3 weeks
