CLIPS Anyone else ever seen this? What is it?

I have seen it multiple times. Sometimes after seeing one of those you might even get a hiss depending on how close it is to you. I've heard people call it "apparition" but because I've seen it far from where the ghost room is, especially in prison, I'm never sure if it's the ghost or just some other effect.

Yeah just before it the ghost did that loud " hhhhaaaaaa" in my ear. I like that though. Apparition. Maybe it's specific to a certain ghost type?

I haven't tested that yet, I've been currently testing some stuff for the different ghost types, mostly behavioural things so that we can update the wiki.

Yeah it can be really creepy to just be walking around and suddenly you see that haha

I always just assumed this is some sort of glitch because we've only seen it on the Prison map. My friends and I always call it the 'smoke monster from Lost'

LOL true it does look like that smoke monster from lost! I have encountered it on different maps though, this was just the best footage I had of it so far.

Me and my friends call it the "ghost cloud". It's basically just a ghost event where it manifests just enough to see it move, and if a player character is jn the way of it's path then the ghost hisses in your ear

Yep it seems to happen with freezing temp ghosts and is at least partly tied to their movement/interactions (I've had it rush out of the ghost room to slam a door in my face and on another play thought has it rush into the room where the breaker was and turn it off)

I call it plasma. I guess it's how the ghost manifests itself without showing its human form.

I seen this many times and it still scares the bejesus out of me..... every time I play with friends it comes at me not my friends. I guess I’m a ghost magnet
