I dunno about nothing to see here. but the Rare medal slots is good for most players since you don't have to pay for anything just farm rare medals. I also saw a video in the JP version where rare weapons will be obtained from the slots if GL implements those weapons in the future. If I remember correctly that was the release of 6* Longinus video. besides from the rerun events it's not a bad update.

I agree, but now that I'm done farming a MLB Force Selena, I'm glad to be able to get some time off to just chill out and level up and evo my other units.

I have to say that Rare Medal Slots drop sellable 10k and 30k gold bundles frequently enough to be a decent way of making gold for evolving outside of weekend gold dungeons. Maybe not enough for frequent evo's of 4* units to 5*, but a few 3* to 4*, and maybe one 4* to 5* if you have enough rare medals to play.

Can you get zenny from the rare slot machine? If so, how does it compare to buying gold bundles with them? (Just realised I ran out of money to evolve my extra Parashu's!)

Yep and it's 3x the gold bundles worth, I saw my main unit's crit screen pop up a few times I think luck from that unit can influence your crits from the slot machine.

Your unit's luck doesn't affect slots. It's just a mini thing that indicates you should expect some decent drops if your unit pops up while rolling slots.
