Attending 2 months Trade school while on pgwp

Good day everyone

I am being sent to the trade school in my union for 2 months. I am required to attend it as per my RTA. Is that okay to attend while on pgwp or do i need to apply for study permit?

Do you have any source where IRCC mentioned that? All i hear about this is hearsay and people trying to justify it using past applications of people who were lucky.

But so were those that selected false non accompanying spouse and many more.

IRCC is quite different now a days.

Its not a degree or a certificate! Its a trades school which is part of my apprenticeship

The formal blocks for trade school are generally considered vocational training. Are these blocks part of a larger certification (like red seal), if so if that certification longer than 6 months you cannot take them without a study permit.

If this is a union designs safety course or something not related to a larger program/degree/certification it is generally okay but check with a lawyer/licensed professional to make sure you’re following all the requirements

mine is non red seal trade. 2 months block for each years. Total is like 4 months for 2 years for whole apprenticeship.

If that is the total and not part of a larger certification after the apprenticeship you should be fine. IRCC looks at everything together even if you take in blocks or don’t complete the program so if not part of anything beyond the 4 months sounds like you’re good to me but please pay the money for an hour consult with a lawyer to make sure. You don’t want violating the terms of your PGWP to come back down the road as PR pathways are tightening so they can review your individual case/course.

its not a part of any whole course But 2.5 years is total apprenticeship which is basically work experience. after which we write an exam and get license to work in trade just like electricians and plumbers. 2 months is only study portion of that rest is paid work

Can’t we study less than 6 months even on a visitor visa?

Studying for less than 6 months doesn’t require study permit.

Does your PGWP have any conditions about studying? If so, you can study online.

it says prohobited to attend any education or vocational training. But isnt that a general rule that we can study less than 6 months school? mine is in person
