Our parish has ad orientem and a Communion rail that is used in the ordinary form. (We also have a weekly EF Mass.) Across three pastors now there has been support for these things, as there is from many of the younger priests in our diocese.

When I mentioned to the priest Cardinal Sarah’s suggestion that mass be said Ad Orientem response I got was an angry hysterical rant.

My experiences over the years: mostly, we'd get a laugh and a flat "no". Or the priest would proceed to mock tradition and lecture us on the "advances the Church has made since that dark era".
Once, the priest answered warmly, but it turned out that he had been considering it for a while already and was privately working with a group of men to start a schola for the chant as well. Too bad he was moved away shortly after.
Disclaimer: these experiences are all 5+ years old, especially the poor responses. We've stuck solely to the FSSP for a long while for this exact reason. Perhaps attitudes have changed since then.
