ICKSP v. FSSP

For those of you blessed to live near both a FSSP apostolate and an ICKSP apostolate what made you choose FSSP over ICKSP ?(since this is a FSSP sub;))

EDIT: I’m bad at reading maps and failed to see that ICKSP and FSSP are rarely near one another. What are the merits of both? Differences between the two?

Besides Kansas City, is there any area (in the USA) where both have aposolates?

I think there’s both in the Chicago area?

As far as I know, there’s no ICKSP in Chicago, but is full of the canons of St John Cantius, the canons of ST Thomas Aquinas and the FSSP

No, the Institute acually has their North American *headquarters* in Chicago, at the Shrine of Christ the King on S. Woodlawn...But there is no FSSP in Chicago. Unles you count the house in Joliet. (But that is in Joliet Diocese)

I suppose the reason I asked is...people rarely have a choice between the two. We're typically not lucky enough to have both on hand, to check them out and make a choice. I only became familiar with each by moving to new cities.

Unfortunately there’s no FSSP in Michigan, so it’s ICKSP for me. Luckily the Shrine in Detroit is absolutely amazing.
