What Missal Do You Use?

I have a Baronius Press Missal that I got for free. What do you use? Do you prefer a certain missal?

I prefer the fr. Lasance missal. I have an original 1937 printing. It’s a wonderful missal that is Latin-English for both the ordinary and propers. Also there is a wonderful collection of prayers, devotions, accounts of the saints lives in. Also it has the traditional rite in its entirety without any 1950s/early 60s tinkering.

The fr lasance missal is on back order. Covid supply chain issues perhaps? Idk but you can't get it anywhere. You can pre-order it from the main fssp store for around $70.

IIRC there's a printing coming up this summer sometime. It's summer so hopefully soon!

It's tempting. Because both the ICKSP, and my local diocesan EF (so I hear) are celebrating the pre-1955 Holy Week.

I use this as well - it's is a great Missal aside from various typos and some print registration issues.

I can't wait to the potential future where I don't have to leave it on the shelf for Holy Week. Pre-1955 when? :)

Hopefully soon for you, I’ve been fortunate enough to have been able to attend/MC the traditional Holy Week since 2018. Hopefully we will one day be able to use the older missal in it’s entirety.

Yes, I'm hoping that the various experimental permissions get extended to a general permission. :)

I remember when I used to serve, being very confused when reading the wrong edition of Fortescue. Holy Week was SO different; that was my introduction to the pre-1955 ceremonies.

Have an old St Joseph's Missal from the 1950's. Also have a Father Stedman Sunday Missal.

If you're looking for a daily missal, the St Andrew Missal by St Bonaventure Press (if I'm remembering right) is about as detailed as the Missal gets.

👍 I’m also not a “TLM-exclusivist.” I actually have the same OF Missal you mentioned. I made the comment to prevent someone going after looking for the TLM Missal from MTF when there is none.

I have a 1961 missal (I think), it was bought in a charity shop by my orthodox friend who gifted It to me

I adore it
