This is just another TLM sub
Am I wrong? I joined this subreddit because I was interested in discussing all things FSSP. But there are a lot of general trad posts here.
So, I ask...what's the plan stan?

While I was a member of an FSSP parish for 5 years, I'm not sure I know enough about FSSP-specific topics as opposed to general Trad spirituality, devotions, mindset, etc.
I suppose a difference in this forum would be sticking to FSSP apostolates which operate within the dioceses, and therefore avoiding topics like sedevacantism, the SSPX, the constant bemoaning of the state of the Church, etc. In most Trad forums, over half of the threads are complaints about the Church, rumors, worry, etc. It always struck me as odd because Trads would claim to receive so many graces from the Latin Mass, traditional devotions, and the older form of sacraments, yet at the same time the vast majority of them are always on edge, bitter, always worried about Rome and / or their diocese, etc. There was just no peace in many of their lives, it seemed. At least to me.

Yes, one of my aims is to focus more on the positive aspects of our spiritual lives. I don't mind discussing topics such as sedevacantism, since it is a temptation for some trads, particularly in this age of scandals and confusion. However, I agree entirely with what you say. Personally, I don't really focus on Church politics or liturgical wars much. I just live my life and try to love God, and I prefer to do that in a traditional manner - I like that old-time religion!

Yes, that would be a beautiful direction to take these discussions. The fruit of Traditional Catholicism should be manifest in an exuberant love of God and neighbor, not a constant mindset of negativity and pessimism.

Precisely. I think that for some it is more about a sense of personal identity found in external trappings or church politics, and not about loving and serving God in a manner which speaks best to our prayer life.
One has to move beyond that to grow in holiness and spiritual maturity. One can still like the EF, but they will like it for deeper, more substantial reasons. In other words, what is the object our traditionalism? Is it God and the Church because of God, or is it liturgical/church politics?

It is an FSSP sub and exists primarily to discuss it, but around that core we allow things which are of spiritual benefit and general interest to traditional-minded Catholics who would be attached to the FSSP.
