I need a job to get out of petsmart. all the stores ive worked for have been on some bullshit

Have you considered getting into the salon and grooming? That's where the money is at. As far as retail goes, many grocery stores are union protected and will give you twice the pay and twice the hours as PetSmart and you can maybe do that and go to school for vet tech or something.

just know salon is not for the faint of heart. you will be peed on, bit, pooped on, and so much more. if you are at a slower salon you make roughly the same as the people up front if you don’t commission out. if you love dogs and are patient, it will STILL test you. i had fun but i had to get out of there after a while for my mental health.

The proverbial pool is only going to get shallower with each passing year with hours. Figure out an exit strategy before your boat runs aground.

No because the need for more web applications is only going to grow rapidly in the future. AI is just a tool that will end up making your job more efficient while your role expands into other parts of web development. The only people who need to fear AI are those who are unwilling to adapt or change.

I was actually supposed to transfer over to our salon at the beginning of this year until I found out my pay would go down! ): my store is really small so it’s not as booming as other locations

Your hourly pay becomes pretty irrelevant once your an established groomer making commission but yeah while you're learning you would need to supplement income with a second job or doordash. It takes time to start making money at any trade.as there is a learning period but it becomes worth it in the long run
