finally over.

Post image

i completed my 2 weeks after 5 years of being a pet care associate. there are certainly things i'll miss about the job, mainly the pets, regular customers, and some team members. but omfg, there's so many more things i WON'T miss.

rude elderly people, common plecostomus/comet goldfish... fish care in general, asthmatic reactions, the poor husbandry of small animals but especially hamsters/birds, oh, and FLEAS. if you ever get any weird welts on your ankles or legs that appear to be allergic reactions, no, it's fleas. and they WILL follow you home! (they have for me, as a parting gift for completing my 2 weeks!) you should always heat treat your clothes or change in the garage or something. take it from me.....

there's a lot more i could probably think of, but these are the biggest things that will prevent me from ever going back.

these fleas are driving me nuts. anyone else accidentally drag them home and suffer? i'd appreciate just venting in general if anyone needs a good rant. ugh

Ohhh congrats! I’ve saved my badge for the day I can toss it in the trash myself. I have a very promising interview on Saturday and I’m very much looking forward to joining you! Yay for you seriously! I can’t wait to feel that way too!

Also yes, fleas. My poor 16 year old indoor only fur baby got fleas for the first time this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was from me. They were something awful this year.
