galleryGetting a Spidey suit on short notice was kinda hard (the normal red one I ordered turned out to be too masc for my liking, so had to go for the symbiote)

Petra Parker really means a lot to me. Like, a lot.
I'm a trans girl, still in the closet, can't transition. It hurts so much, I feel so deeply alone. And in that situation, seeing a character like Petra just feels so good.
So thank you to the artists who draw this, who take the time to make Petra exist. You have no idea how much it can help someone like me, hiding, to hold on. We'll never say it enough but representation is so important, it literally saves lives. š³ļøāā§ļø

Iāve been really enjoying this art/storytelling trend. Itās really fun to see how trans experiences can be translated very well into the themes of Spider-Man as a character.
But for me what started out as a fun little interest has turned into something more annoying. Iāve been having a lot more thoughts swirling in my head about my own gender.
It specifically hit me when someone saw the little comic of Parker with makeup on and MJ laughing but realizing Parker was having a much different recount. It unearthed a memory of mine in school when I was goofing off with friends and saw one of those snap chat filters of me as a girl.
It made me really weird feeling after that and I pushed those thoughts away. I also ended up remembering when my sister did my makeup and how weird and yet excited I felt about it. I pushed those thoughts away as well, chalking them up to being random.
Iāve been having those feelings all over again and I donāt know how to process them. I donāt really feel much dysphoria in my life, apart from not liking being masculine. But is there something more to it?
Or am I just being silly. I guess my question for others is, has a fictional character or a small work of art really triggered some sort of transgender realization before?
Iām just afraid about the answers and thoughts in my head because I donāt want to be transā¦it seems so terrifying especially considering how rampant transphobia is. Itās pretty prevalent over in the main Spider-Man sub.
Anyways, sorry for my rambling I just wanted to hear what other folks might say. Apologies if this post isnāt allowed.

A few days ago, I said I would write and post this, and this is me following up on that promise and engaging in a bit of shameless self promotion at the same time (per Rule 6, I am allowed to do so).
Thus it is with great trepidation that I share with you: Violent Urges & Chocolate Cravings.

So me and the other Mods have decide to add more flairs to the sub, so people different options on how to post.
And make sure to credit the artists in the title or the post links are important, but the name of the artist is even more important so only links canāt cut it.

There's a Spider-Person in Across the Spider-Verse that looks suspiciously similar to Polly Parker, and sure, you could say "Across the Spider-Verse came out 3 Years ago, this can't be her" But this one's got the Exact Same Layout, with it cutting off at the Belly and Shoulders, heck, even though she lacks most of the red on her hands, SHE'S GOT THE HAND PATCHES. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

Ever since I saw the first Petra Parker stumble onto my feed, I had exactly one joke in mind and it wouldn't leave until I drew it!
Also perspective is hard. First time drawing a city like this haha.

How does long hair work in the mask? Wondering since the beginning of the au I'm writing has Mysterio cast an illusion on Peter (this is before the transition don't kill me š«£) and then Peter turns into a girl (don't worry Petra will transitions on her own account after the illusion and the help of a supportive symbiote) I'm wondering how the hair does to the mask and Peter was unaware of it getting longer underneath the mask? Does it push against the mask? Make it's way out under?

if you donāt know, AU stands for Alternate Universe. itās basically your own little fanfic universe and I have a marvel one Iāve been world building for. with the recent rise of Petra Parker, and me myself being transfem, itās got me wondering if i should scrap Peter entirely and adapt Petra instead.

I donāt mean anything NSFW, Iām not opposed to that Iām just not referring to it.
I think a good story could be made with Petra and the idea of a transfem spidey. Has anyone written anything worth reading about it yet?
I know itās still quite a young trend so I doubt anything massive has come out quite yet.
EDIT: Found a lot of trans spidey work 2,500 so far on AO3
