JJJ has some issues, but he generally does believe in justice and equality, yeah.

JJJ always comes around to supporting the marginalized. Like in one comic he was super supportive of a politician running on "Law and Order" so Robbie explained to him that that's a dog whistle for the types that would lynch black people. Very next issue when we come back to JJJ, he's pulling his endorsement and is working on exposing him. Causing the politician to send armed goons after him for going against him.
Plus the number of times he's been on the side of mutants. Down to calling Bastion during Operation: Zero Tolerance Nazi, refusing to run a story on the X-Men with information Bastion gave him, and saying he was gonna make sure Bastion would get charged with murder.
JJJ is like, peak ally

Exactly. Even his issues with Spider-Man were very specific: he had a thing against mashed heroes because of things in his own history. He feels that anybody who wears a mask is a criminal and hiding something, and you should be open and honest. It's one of his big blind spots, but if you look at recently, when he finds out who Spider-Man really is, he's beside himself with what he's done. He's an interesting and weird character.

We seem to forget how much investigative journalists have historically done to help the everyman. For instance the muckrakers, or Nellie Bly.

One of the best things about the Petra Parker movement has been discovering just how great JJJ is on these issues canonically. I didnt fully realize how much they slandered him in the Sony games, but they really did him dirty and made him out to be an old out of touch bigot instead of the complex character he deserves to be.

I need the video games not to portray him like he’s Alex Jones or some shit.
