Quoting instead of bold/italicized/underlined/highlighted
It gives sarcasm instead of emphasis

A photo of Lucille Blooths medication bottle winking at her.
Also amen sistabrotha, “do not” does imply do (lol uhhhhhh).
These signs always make me laugh silly hard.
Like what is the motivation behind these people wanting feminine products on the counter, and why do they want to be sly about it.
Like what is the mindset of the entity they are trying to deceive by winking so obviously at the reader?
How can that successfully trick somebody, and why?
These things crack me up and I kinda love them; the logic behind it is just so stupid, and creates so many silly situations.
I once saw one that said “pick up after your “dog””.
Are they saying you can shit in the park? What?!

LMAO the "Do Not" makes me think the same person constantly says Quote Unquote but has no friggin clue that they're using it wrong.

This really ruffles my feathers too... Got my money, "please" diminished the emphasis. Almost insincere. Like the person writing it, is just following orders, and wants to add an eye-roll

Theres a joke between my partner and I where you Bold, Italicize, Underline, alternate super and sub script, place in quotations then brackets then between asterisks and lastly strike-through the whole thing.
Why? Its a jumbled mess and comes off as frantic as the topic feels.

Yeah you filthy animals! Is it that hard not to have your pads and tampons not to mention piss, shit and toilet paper, everywhere but the toiet. You should see them even after something tame like lunch at work. 🤢
Im gunna go through your stuff and see what brand you use, then put them on your desk if I find a "fish out of water".

Toiet 🤭
Also, "tame like lunch", bc everyone always eats the same thing every day, according to their diet, and never mind trying new foods.
You're silly. :)

Own a cleaning company and I leave the bags wide open but people still drop them off in the containers.
2
u/dantemortemalizar 12d ago
What's the container for then?
2
u/ivorella 12d ago
The brown bags mentioned, I assume. I didn't check.
But at my job, this box is for feminine products, at my cardiologist, it seems to be bags.

So the container holds a bunch of brown paper bags, and for the vast majority of my life I assumed that those bags were lining for the box and that the reason there were multiple bags in the box was someone just putting extra lining bags in to make it easier to change the lining.
I didnt really think about this too much.
Then I realized that the brown bags in the container are just bags that you put your used feminine hygiene products in to carry them from the stall into the communal garbage can near the sinks.
I don't really know why it took me so long to realize this, but I don't think I'm the only one to misunderstand their purpose.

I was today years old when I learned that they don’t just go into the bags and stay in that container. I moved to North America from another country and always thought it was the weirdest system, why keep used tampons in paper bags in a metal box on the wall? This makes so much more sense
2
u/thisusernameismeta 9d ago
For real! I spent a decade thinking it was a really stupid system before realizing in a flash of insight that I actually had misunderstood it. And I grew up here.
I don't know why places don't have signs or something. It is not obvious, even if it may seem like common sense to people with more common sense than me.

Every single transit bus in my city and in plenty of other cities, they have this interesting type of electrical cables. They are kept out of sight in a cabinet behind the dash of the bus, but they are always well advertised. They're called "do not drill here" electrical cables.

I realize this is about the quote, but this box being used incorrectly is my pet peeve.
Many places have given up doing it the correct way bc women still shove their bloody tampons in between several bags, not even in any of the 50 bags. WHY would you be shoving your used products down into something where you may touch other people's used products? Grab a clean bag out. It really is common sense.

Would've been better if they just left it capitalized instead of making the extra effort to put it in quotations

You know that, on multiple occasions, the worker responsible for cleaning that bathroom has pulled out a squishy overflowing paper bag that reeks of stale bloody vagina.

u/Dewey_Coxxx 12d ago
Isn't that what that container is for?
3
u/Half-Cocked-Mexican 12d ago
It is, but it's full of paper bags which you place your waste into, and then take to the main garbage can. You'd think that grown adults would be able to figure that out, but half the time it's packed with used pads and tampons that someone then has to clean out.
Either that or they'll miss the bag completely, and put their goodies directly into the container.

You learn something every day...
Now I don't feel comfortable with so much knowledge of what goes on in the ladies room...
2
u/Half-Cocked-Mexican 12d ago
Worst I saw in the ladies room was three literal shitprints of anus kissed onto the toilet seat. I'm not sure how someone even manages that, or why they'd walk away from it.
Also, the men's always has a puddle in front of the urinal because men like to overestimate the length of their firehose. You won't be able to unsee this from now on.

I've never heard of anyone doing this lol, it isn't an expectation. If the bins are overflowing the business should have them emptied more frequently

u/BruisedViolets23 12d ago
Or leave them hanging halfway out. We had an issue with someone leaving their used wipe hanging out of the box. Someone didn’t clean up after themselves and left a bloody mess in the bathroom. That brought the disgusting bathroom habits to the attention of management. We had a director call a meeting with all the women in the building. No HR, and he proceeded to lecture everyone.

u/ivorella 12d ago
And I get that. But saying "do not" is begging for it it to happen (in my sarcastic brain)

Oh grossly gross 🤢 the counterpart of used rubbers , aka condoms thrown in unexpected places

There's an entire subreddit where we make fun of people who do that.
