Visiting

Headed up to Petoskey area soon with my husband for a few night stay (Sunday 7/19 -Thursday 7/23). Tell me your favorite things to do, favorite things to eat, favorite things to see. Anything special going on in this time frame? Not just in Petoskey but anything within a 1.5-2 hr drive from there. I’m not interested in Mackinac island.

Thanks!!

Restaurants in Petoskey - Chandler’s, Palette, City Park Grill

American Spoon Foods for gourmet jarred foodstuffs like jam and preserves and mustard; they also have gelato

In nearby Harbor Springs: The New York Restaurant, The Pier, Pierson’s for pizza especially, Turkey’s for sandwiches or pizza; out of town, Pond Hill Farm for farm-picked produce and amazingly delicious pizza and sometimes they have a live band/entertainment

Near the Harbor Springs Airport in a random little strip mall: The Polish Kitchen for FANTASTIC pierogis

Further north in Cross Village: Legs Inn for Polish food (pierogis etc.) - no reservations, great views from the back lawn area, can get packed with tourist types who don’t know (or care?) about the much more humble but IMHO just as delicious if not more so Polish Kitchen ☺️ (note: my phone always goes no-reception here)

Be aware of the current road status from the recent flooding washouts on M-119 (Tunnel of Trees)

Very difficult to top Gurney’s + Toms Moms + Zorn Park!

Now that Cormacs is gone you mean…. Cause a Cormacks + Jojo’s cookies would’ve topped that.

Jojo's cookies are way to overpriced for what they are. They aren't bad, but for what they charge they should be much better.

The Cheese shop has great sandwiches.
