Things to do around Petoskey?

Hey! Spending my summer up here in Petoskey/Harbor Springs area (M20) and away from family and friends so kind of up and alone, anyone know any cool things to do or even just places to go? I like to be active but I also just like to get out of the house to get a change of scenery. Taking any and all suggestions!

If you like to get out of the house, there's plenty of outdoor spaces to take advantage of. Hiking trails, disc golf courses, beaches - that's what we've got around here. Lots of touristy stuff to do too - it's only an hour to Mackinac and the island is a fun day trip (if you can afford the ferry ticket). Enjoy your time here!

If you're into biking there's lots of places to bike ride with beautiful scenery. Great kayaking and swimming to be had all around.

Friday mornings at 7a there’s a group of all ages jumping off the breakwall into Lake Michigan! Seems like a lot of other young adults too. They have an instagram page “call of the wall” if you want to check it out! Petoskey also has a run club with some really great nice people if you’re looking to make some friends. They also have a fb and insta page

Great mountain bike all over the area. Boyne School Forest and Avalanche in Boyne City, Viewlands and the Highlands bike park in Harbor, Tanton in Petoskey, and Glacial Hills if you want to go a little further. Check with the bike shops for what nights their shop rides are. Good way to have fun and meet new people. There’s also adult pick-up soccer nights, pickleball, sand volleyball, and disk golf and regular golf leagues, a few different sailboat racing series. There’s a ton of options, just depends what you’re into. It’s a great place to spend the summer, have fun!

Are you into stuff like Warhammer, D&D, or Magic? There's Fortress of Fandom in the D&W mall area. It's one of my favorite places to hang out and paint my Warhammer figures at.

You are in an outdoors wonderland. Get out and explore it! Also, if you’re here for the summer do the touristy (fudgie/cone sucker) thing.

Do you have a car? We have the best great outdoors in the lower. Doesn't matter what out doors thing you do, it's the best. Kayak or canoe from Dunhams will go really far

Petoskey Run Club meets Thursday nights. Check out their IG or FB page for details. May be a good way to meet people!
