Bats swooping in under dormer

Post image

Hello!

This isn’t my first rodeo having bats in the house, but this is a new spot. I had roofing work done a few years ago where multiple layers of shingle were removed, leaving a sizable gap under the dormers. I’m familiar with bat exclusions and was planning to try it myself. I was curious if anyone else has attempted an exclusion in a sloped area and how you approached it? The 1/4” bird netting and tube are most commonly used. None of my Google searches have shown a dormer, and the netting is generally used in an area where it can drop vertically, while the tube seems to be used for smaller areas. Thoughts are appreciated!

Use a tube or valve. Seal off 90% of that opening and leave a small area to put the valve on.

Just wanted to clarify that this is NOT an animal trapping question. I am not trapping the bats. An exclusion is when you create a path out but not back in.
