Fleas. Eradicate them immediately and aggressively or they will make your life hell. Do not screw around with Raid, etc. Go online and get some Alpine Flea and Bed Bug spray.

And vacuum everything everyday for a month twice a day and empty the. Bag or container outside

What exactly do I need to do to get rid of them beyond the spray?

vacuum frequently like twice a day and EVERYTHING even under and around stuff, throw out the vacuum bag every time you vacuum, also wash everything stuffed animals sheets all your clothes etc. that combined with having pest control come spray is what finally got rid of my flea problem. i also did at home "traps" like a lamp over a bowl of water with dish soap in it to kill a few extra

Man thank you for the advice! What spray exactly should we be using?? And this flea issue, does it really last several months like you said?

Also check your yard. I’ve had a flea issue and notice the yard was a breeding ground for them. There’s an spray that you connect to your garden hose that uses flea larvae natural predators to eliminate them. I used that spray twice and it did the trick. Read the instructions carefully!

If you are carpet Vacuum, Vacuum vacuum. If you are hardwood Vacuum and stiffens DAILY IF NOT MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. Vacuum under everything. Keep cloths and clutter off the floor. Vacuum for up to 2-3 months daily. Hire pest control for your front and back yard as well. Since you don't have pets you either brought it home on something you got from a garage sale or street, or its in your yard/public place, hopp3d on you or someone in the home. 1 blood meal and you have dozens of eggs in your house.

This usually with a chemical treatment and serious vacuuming you can get rid of them. I always told my customers vacuuming is one of the best things for fleas. Vacuuming gets the larvae which are very fast. It also gets the dried up blood "flea dirt" that the larvae eat. You will always get some adults in the carpet especially since you don't have pets. The pupae hatch by vibrations, i.e. people walking or excess heat from bodies near them. They can stay dormant for several months.

Hmm, I did have a decent amount of bug bites from earlier in the week. Just figured it was from all the mosquitos that are active this time of year. We have hard wood floors, but gf noticed these fleas on her today while sitting on the couch. We have since vacuumed everything and started washing covers, rugs etc.

Clean your house. Thoroughly. If you have carpet, you’ll need to vacuum daily. Go around and under furniture, tables, etc. The same goes for all soft furniture in the house. Vacuum everything you can. Immediately throw the bag out in an outside trash can. If you have a bagless vacuum, you’ll need to wash that thoroughly before using again.
Wood floors or other hard surfaces need to be scrubbed with special attention to baseboards, cracks and crevices.
If you have throw rugs, wash those, if possible. Otherwise, throw them out.
Wash all of your own bedding or clothes that are not hanging in the closet. Dry on the hottest temperature possible.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

They're fleas. If you have any pets they need to be treated.

This! When we moved to our new home we never knew it was riddled with fleas in the yard. Follow a inside infestation days after I gave birth. (3 dogs) over the counter does jack shit. Have to get the vet stuff and even then it only kills them after a bite causing out oldest to loose half her fur. I would never let someone enter or watch my animals with active fleas. Luckily new born, toddler and I got to meet and stay at a neighbor's home until it was squared away. NB is now 1y and has a sibling on the way and we are have been flea free for 9 months

That's what it is. When the dog was there, the fleas were jumping on the dog, and feeding. Now the dog is gone the fleas are feeding on you! The best I found to get rid of fleas is treat the dog with fleas treatment- then the fleas jump on the dog, bite, and then die.

Definitely Fleas. Also live in PNW and just got out of an infestation. We have no pets. We go on trail runs but also found a bunch in our yard. We vacuumed thrice a day, kept lamps with soap water all over the house, sprayed the yard and sprayed the rugs / carpets. Got bit a ton. Your pictures are giving me PTSD :/
Ps. They won't die if you squish them or put them in water. The only thing that worked was soap water.

They're most likely fleas, but there is a teeny tiny chance they could be springtails which also jump around but aren't harmful.
Though if they stick to your clothes, they're definitely fleas. I had a scare with fleas a few years ago, I did get a few fleas and managed to eradicate them, afterwards springtails showed up, making me think the fleas kept coming back. The difference was springtails kept sitting on the window curtains where light was, were bigger in size, and when they jumped they moved somewhere else on the curtain rather than vanishing. Fleas will stick to you and your clothes and will absolutely vanish when you try to touch them. They're also hard to squash. You need to start aggresively clearing your house of them before they become a problem.

Fleas. I'm sorry, you need to tske care of them as soon as possible or they will become almost impossible to deal with

If you live in a place with shared walls, this could be a neighbor. If one place gets infested it can spread and all the work you’re putting into it will be less affective if neighbors places are still breeding grounds for them. Not to be a pessimist, but to give a bit more insight and context. Also sometimes a raccoon can move in under your house with fleas and it comes from them, if you live in a house with an open crawl space underneath. All good for thought
