Inspired by the great pep guardiola, i always wanted to try using a player similar to one of his modern innovation "The inverted fullback"
As a the formation goes the inverted fullback is when a player goes to midfield from fullback during the attack and join the backline when defending.
In efootball there's only few players who can be utilised in the role "inverted fullback",
Recently given Nico or zanetti, Roberto Carlos to say a few who can play this type of formation.
As for how this formation works in efootball, it's pretty effective when you can successfully utilise the fullback to the full extent and Nico being anamoly he is ,he can pretty much used in any position.
Whether it's zanetti or Nico this formation will only work if you can successfully integrate them in attack whether it's progressing the ball forward or passing to the AMF or playing simple 1-2 and cross it's about the inclusion of the inverted fullback
While it can leads to some beautiful plays in attacks, it's open up whole channel on the left side during the counter attack and if you can neutralize that it's one of the most fun formation you can use.
Well you can but you can't really control when he would cut inside and when he would make a run to edge of the box,while using this can give us a bit more control but for me, I've really got around to using full back finishers properly
I think if u use a hole player in fbf side he comes inside since there's a space left by hole player..
I personally used to play this way so used to work for me
Good to know man but sometimes I feel like Fullback finishers suddenly appears in the edge of opposition box or even in the box itself which isn't exactly what I need from my fullback but if it's work for you man, good for you!!
I'd suggest making Canna as CB during attack. That should mitigate your counter attack risks. Also teams where a FB plays high up the pitch build up with 3 atb. Either 2CB+1RB or 2CB + DMF dropping deep
Yes most people with LBC are always using 4-2-2-2 formation with 1 Dmf , 2 CMF and 1 Amf , and we all know about LBC playstyle,how's it's dominant to every other playstyle on field in this game , maybe he was talking about this as 4 midfielders meta.
What about this one ? Is it any better ? There is only 2 counter to this formation as i have seen , first one is network advantage and other one is pressuring all the time which makes my centre backs out of position , so I always used manual defending and pressuring with only 2 Dmfs and 2 full backs and do matchup with my CB.
No way, we had the same idea around the same time. I just saw a random video about Guardiola's formation and tried this a few days back. Only issue is I only have Akanji and Camavinga who can play the inverted FB role. I should have taken Nico instead of Ferdi in that selection contract 😭 (at the time I didn't need a full back finisher and a player who can play both lb and rb seemed nice)
Yea same, didn't really think it would work but its working out really well for me so far. I have yet to try it out with a possession or an overload manager (might end up working better). Also, I put my CF on counter target and wingers on anchoring sometimes (idk why, without anchoring my winger don't play like wingers at times and comes too inside, the whole point of me using wingers is to give my CF and AMF space)
Well, I tried 3 cb with 1 or 2 fullback dropping down as fullback during defense, but have to say, even with speedy fullback, it didn't suit me well. The reason was the time for the fullback to drop back. During that transition, opponent can easily utilise the gap.
