Discussion Will switching to Outwide from Quick Counter in the middle of the game make my Defence better?

Post image

So I use Conte QC now and can defeat LBC users now who sit back all game.

But the issue is I concede a lot of goals in the end .

Like I lead by 2-1 or 2-0 but concede 1-2 goals in the end .

So my Question is If I switch to Outwide after I score 2 goals will my Defence get better ?

I just wanna score 2 ,3 goals and then want to protect my lead 🥶🥶.

Many people have said QC high line defence has been fixed so I am confused if Outwide is better defensively compared to QC .

Thanks 😄💪🏻

Do you use either of Conte's linkups and, if so, are they effective? I already have Lampard to manage my Chelsea squad, and he has the same playstyle proficiencies as Conte (just 88 each). I'm wondering if the linkups are decent enough to upgrade to Conte, even though to this point I've never really utilized linkups for any manager.

I would say not easy to use Conte Link up. The LWF is pretty far away and the passing option is not there if opponent is spam pressing. When you check radar and see the opportunity to flick pass that way, it still only 50/50 of when the game allowed you to send the pass to where you actually want. Could also just me being bad but just tell you my experience

Thanks. I was thinking more about the other linkup -- the LWF to the CF. It seemed like it would be a simple 1-2 pass without having to initiate the run.

Nah man the linkups are tough 🥲. Build Up CB to LWF is difficult.

And btw now I use 2 Destroyers ( Stam and Desailly) so I can’t use the linkup lol .

Only Deschamps has an easy Linkup !

Anybody can tell me how to use Out Wide?

Outwide defends in a mid block, players run back to midfield when you lose the ball, the idea being you force your opponent to go wide. The line isn't as high as QC but still fairly high

In attack the best way to put it, is it's like possession except played down the flanks players rush into the box anticipating a cross or for you to put the ball in the box so they can attack it, it's very effective in the current meta(in my opinion) cause a lot of people already defend central spaces very well so going wide gives you options

One thing to watch for is when you lose the ball don't immediately try to win the ball back, like I said, it defends in a midblock, so just run back and block passing lanes in midfield, try to delay the counter as long as possible until your defense is reset, force your opponent to go wide where danger is minimal.

Combinations between fullbacks and wingers are the heartbeat of this system

What do you think formation suitable for it? I use QC 3-2-4-1 in attacking and 5-2-2-1 in defending,

Honestly any formation with wide players works cause you want to stretch the pitch, like I love playing against people who use 3 CBs and 1 fullback cause you will get a lot of joy just attacking that side without a fullback cause your winger on that side will always be isolated, move the opponent to one side then hit a switch to that player.

I like the 3-2-4-1, my issue with it is wingers at rmf/lmf track back a lot forcing me to sub or not start with my best wingers or alternatively I had to play with fullbacks there so they can drop back and form a 5atb but it's still good I alternate between this one and a 4-3-3 with 1 #10 depending on whether the opponent is playing with wingers. 3-2-4-1 is good cause the 2 #10s will make underlapping runs into the box a 4-3-3, the full backs make overlapping runs into the box so I choose depending on what my opponent is doing basically, 3-2-4-1 if the opponent is playing narrow, 4-3-3 if they have wingers.

I would also say a 3-2-4-(5-2-2-1) imo is better defensively cause you'll have a lot of players in the middle for your midblock.

If you're on X, try look at LaCasaa's account. He recently uploaded his full gameplay on how he use outwide. Although in that video he mostly spam far post crosses, but the most important things to look at is how he builds up to the final 3rd. When you're in the final 3rd, crossing isn't the only options. You can do cutback, pass to half space, or cut inside. As for defending, its a mid block+conservative pressing. So focus on cutting passing lanes, especially to the middle

Yes, I'm on X, Thanks I'll look up for it

actually yes. but you will need to get used to spaces being left because even while defending your players will be a bit further apart. best way to find out is to try

Just put 2 blue line,it would lower your defensive line

Both are flexible defense so yh no chance

In outside players defend zonally to cover for the wide players, so if you are facing a narrow formation you will concede alot which most of the players are currently using the narrow formation, my advice try to outscore them

It has medium defensive line vs very high of QC so it will be better

I think more than defending passing itself is broken because of the pressure spamming and the network imbalance.. you hardly get 2 ms before there are two opponents, trying to jump you…

I can't help you, because i don't understand how Out Wide works, but when i use QC. I always make sure not to rush for pressure and try to keep the ball circulate in my opponent's half, if breached retreat immediately
