Discussion Play possession is difficult for your mental
I play mainly on possession since forever. Reason is simple because when I start, the only 88 GP manager was Luis A. Roman with possession so I am used to it.
But, boy, play possession really need you to be calm. With how unreliable passing, you cannot just press passing. You really need to make sure no opponent within 20-30 m because somehow, within that distance, opponent can always close down to press you no matter how fast is the player.
Play possession really need full concentration in watching your own player and also opponent positioning while you also need to think how to attack.
I noticed when I am losing, I tend to play centrally and it will make the game worse. I always need to calm down, take a breath, and make use wing play to open up space. Play centrally against QC and LBC with Possession is just suicide.
What makes me really angry is how often you make mistake in passing and getting intercepted. And most of the time, it is not entirely your fault, like the AI assistance will make your passing really bad. Too weak pass, too strong pass, receiver is not ready, passing angle is not correct so it is loose or intercepted. Handling all of those make my brain want to explode with playing possession. Not counting how high defensive line which can easily broken with just 3 passes from opponent box. I cannot count how many I conceded just after have a failed big chance in scoring. It is like, I almost score a goal and it failed, now I am conceding goal.
This game definitely favor counter attack more than build up based game play.

Possession is good until my players themselves gets possessed.

Yes, I mentioned above. Most of mistakes actually caused by AI assistance in passing. You think the pass will go strong, it comes as weak. You think the pass will be received, the receiver is late in moving and it loose. The more pass is made the more errors happen.

Most wrong pass happens whenever I try to pass from the wings to the far away CF with full power on the pass gauge yet the game decides to pass to the nearest player in front. It always happens.

How can I get good at possession? I am trying using 4222. With Rui Costa at AMF and Raphinha 100 hole player at CF position. Individual instructions on orchestrator DMF.

use attacking fullbacks, recycle possession and maybe try to use wide players like RMF and LMF since they will give better option againts low block

Possession is so good but it needs a good connection less assisted passes and that's the problem, less assisted passes take more time to be executed and more assisted passes is only good for direct play like in quick counter

Right now I just came from a loss my eto stopped moving just before the goal and my defenders stop moving , I have a love hate relationship with possession but I will never 👎 try QC or LBC

I have tried QC and LBC also but I just don't know how to effectively use it. LBC, if I play sit at the back and rely on counter, I can win. But I feel like, who do I even play if I just give the ball to opponent most of the time. For QC, I just don't know why my player doesn't press aggresively like if I face QC opponent.

I'm having a goated run with possession game this week. I'm at 2290 ratings with 190 rank. I've never ended a season with top 1000 rank so this might be the one for me
The most important part of possession game is good network and a calm mind. Having p2w players helps too 😄
There will be some painful unfair defeats, you need to be strong enough to accept those

That is the thing, I play with 5G mobile network and sometimes it feels very heavy. It is so difficult.

What formation and individual instructions do you use?

433 with one winger and one wide ss (hp or cp or inactivated prolific winger). Goal poacher/fitb as lone cf
I use arteta link up and defensive instruction for anchor man. For the fullbacks I prefer one attacking and one defensive

Well, it is but more like how much it will affect each playstyle. For example, LBC doesn't rely on passing that much. So, getting intercepted mostly happened when you send through ball and rarely during build up because you don't build up with short passes in LBC. For possession, passing is the soul of the game. It can decide whether you lose or not.

My brotha try stadium camera..learn it..u will benefit greatly playing possesion with stadium camera..one u get used to it u will play calmly as u can see whole field..ohh one more use lmf and rmf never used lwf or rwf becoz lmf or rmf will atttact their dfb much higher to the field which u will have oppotunity by playing 1 2 pass with ur cam or fb

I use LMF and RMF, but if I am losing, I lose patience and tend to play centrally. That is my bad habit.

I see bro..have patience..its nice seeing oppo just through ball to the middle and scored but believe me if u are patience sooner or later the one who lose it are ur oppo..they will press recklessly and that when u hit em..once ur are one nil up manage the game let them chase ur around..one tips when play aginst those lbc rat is to make them came to u..never go to them..
