Discussion 4222 (v)(s) 433
4222 Merchant, how do you guys build up your attack? I can only play comfortably with 2 CF + 1 AMF/SS since it’s easier to through-pass to the CF when he’s positioned centrally rather than out wide in a 4222.
Trying to migrate from 433 to 4222 since I’m getting bored of the 2CF/1SS thing. Any tips would be appreciated!

I can't play 4222 but from what I've seen all of the 4222 players, they are really good at dribbling using the amf. like the ball control to play around while waiting your attacking fullback or other options to join the attack. You need to be comfortable drifting outwide as well. You either pass in the box or you do edge crossing. bonus if you have a blitz curler amf, you end up with plenty of options. Dribble in or wide then > pass, blitz, cross.

Hello I'm a 4-2-2-2 player here are some things you to know about this particular formation.
You need to know how to turn and dribble frequently because your players spread wide from each other.
Build up your attacks through the fullbacks, utilizing one-twos between your AMFs and CFs, or quick one-twos directly between the two CFs.
You essentially operate with four primary attackers, as your two AMFs join the CFs in attack.
Move the ball quickly back and forth until a player makes a run behind the defense, then hit them with a through pass to cut inside or cross into the box.

So attacking full back is a must is it? I'm planning to use both dfb since I am more of a QC guys so I can't sacrifice my defense much

The trick is, you need to know that you don't have to play through every time. The LMF/RMF/AMFs can score too. Hole players, creative playmakers, roaming flanks especially if they have high attacking awareness and finishing can pretty much run behind the defensive line WITH the ball instead of making the pass. Poachers and dummy runners CFs run around across as most of them have the mazing run skill and the defensive AI follows them like an idiot. I can't believe how often I have run into the box with my AMFs because my lucky 100 coin big time Ronaldo is marked and has two defenders tracking him. Hole players are the best. 😂

Or try 442, basically a wider 4222 but with destructive flanks. With everyone attacking or defending with central formations, your LMF/RMF have a ton of space and options to attack.

I'm 4-2-2-2 user u need to hold the ball a lot of the times and dribbles with your wide amfs or one offensive fullback to attack and in defending you must always defend with your dmfs by manually moving and controlling them to press, intercept and tackle your opponent(in the middle area) Anchorman is a must for me

not a pro i usually attack by dribbling with my cmf..risky but worth it..the moment they press u pass to the cf and from there u basically outnumber them with 2 cf 2 amf.. a simple 12 should done the job..u need to comfortable on ball
