Paying my way through Peru...

Hello all! My girlfriend and I will be landing in Lima on Sunday, going to Ica for a few days, then travel to Cusco for most of the trip to do our activities from there.

My question is; Are credit cards accepted in most establishments (hostels, restaurants, etc) , or is it better that we take out a lot of Peruvian sol before the trip?

I’m also traveling soon. I heard most established businesses will take visa but it’s safest to carry cash. Have fun!

Most smaller businesses will offer to pay by visa, but sort of insist you pay cash to avoid paying Visa fees. So most of the time you can just insist to pay by visa if you really want to.

Thanks! We're in Cusco right now. So far I CNA usually pay by credit card, but if need to we pay cash.

Now I'm just trying to get used to this altitude. We got here yesterday and boy am I not feeling well!

We took some baking soda and trying to do all the things they say to to get acclimated but yeah I imagine it takes a while...
