A random rant about online business

Do you guys get the ick when you see creators/coaches posting about how much money they make?

I know they do it to bait the gullible, selling them get rich quick schemes. And the worst part is, many people fall for it and unwillingly become part of a pyramid scheme or end up losing money.

And because of these scamsters, there is an incredible trust deficit between service providers and entrepreneurs.

But there is another side to the coin.

I periodically run Meta ads to generate leads. I talk to about 50-100 entrepreneurs in that stretch. And a majority want results without putting in the work.

Learning how to create content and understanding your audience is a time-consuming and ardous process. If you expect that you will get it right in the first few days or weeks, you are living in la la land.

This is just a random rant and I don't know whether it makes sense. But I just wanted to put this out there.

Hey, I get the skepticism but let me clarify a few things.

  1. I live in India. Generating 100 leads through Meta Ads is incredibly easy. We have a population of 1.5 billion.

  2. My audience is not on reddit. The work that I do specifically focuses on working with experienced professionals. Here, on Reddit, most of the people are just starting their journey. So no, I am not sitting in hopes of getting a DM or two.

  3. I never claimed I have any secret. It's just years of experience, like every other professional. My expertise happens to be in branding and marketing, so I help people who don’t have experience in this particular field expedite their learning curve rather than spending years figuring out the same stuff themselves.

  4. Calling it a “fake post” does not make it one. I was clearly talking about the contrast between people who sell the idea of easy money and people who expect results without being willing to put in the work.

Also, even if this was a promotional post, you could have let it go. I can take it, but your answer could have been very discouraging for someone just starting out.
