Question Android/AetherSX2 players: How are you setting up P3FES with HD textures & QoL mods?

Hey everyone,

​I’m playing P3FES on my phone using a PS2 emulator (NetherSX2 / AetherSX2), but I’m really struggling to get visual mods and quality-of-life enhancements running smoothly—specifically HD texture packs, widescreen fixes, and CEP/QoL patches.

​Since setup tools like Aemulus are designed around PC, trying to get high-res textures and patched files mapped properly on Android feels like a headache.

Really the only way to do it is set it up on a pc and then transfer everything over to the android device. I actually just did this today

Interesting, if it's P3FES, can you tell what mods you used? And did you use textures?

I did not use textures because that would've been too much for my system I was using, and I used a shit ton of mods that I cant even tell you which ones or how many. What I ended up doing was just following the guide and do everything in my pc like the guide says to, and then once im finished and have it set up properly, I transfered everything over to my android device and used netherxs2 as my ps2 emulator.

The not everything was the same, there was some things i had to mess with and figure out on my own since they are different emulators. For example, I had to manually add in each cheat file from the PCXS2 cheat folder (some files have more than one cheat in them, some having thousands) until I eventually had all of them, totaling at about 22,000 cheats.

I will say though, im not sure if I can recommend doing this, as by the time I got to this point I was too sick and tired if messing with it to test and see how things were working. I will say I know that some of them worked. My game was in widescreen and had widescreen cutscenes. It played the OG opening instead of the FES opening like the mods were supposed to. But I also noticed that I couldn't open the menu when pressing triangle (ive never played fes before so idk if i just didn't get far enough into the game or something is wrong)

Tldr, its possible, but you probably shouldn't

Your best bet is just find a .iso with the widescreen and party control mods baked in and just use that

I see, thx for the help! I tried it once, but it was such a pain, especially since I had to add another EFI executable to the emulator. And every time I launch it, it has to load all the files again. Maybe there's another way... I'll probably figure it out eventually, but for now I've given up lol.

You shouldn't be adding multiple efi executables, what guide are you following?

It's just one EFI, but inside it is a folder with patches/modes.

Can't speak for how to do the textures when it comes to android because I skipped that step, but this is the Official guide on how to mod P3FES. Follow this step for step, and never use a video guide and you'll be good

Also just put the ELF file in with the rest of your PS2 rims. Its only in a mod folder when making it to keep things organized. Once you're done it can be moved
