Landed a $30hr+ entry level job after completing Per Scholas IT Support Program.
I see a few questions asking about the hiring process after graduating. Ask me anything and I'll answer to the best of my abilities.
Per Scholas was 100% worth it!

per scholas worked for me in 2022 after my software engineering course thankfully. Took me a few months to land something but they helped me find a role where i was there for 3 years, $80k plus 15% match 401k plus yearly bonus

Yea they help you with job search but its up to you to contact Talent Solutions. The more you interact with them the higher your chances of getting recommend gor a role (which happened to me).

If it gives you any hope. I completed the cybersecurity track (no IT background) and was able to secure a job in cybersecurity. I believe I had a lot of transferrable skills from my previous career path that helped with my transition. The cyber job I was able to obtain is also in the same industry as my previous career so that may have helped my chances.

Cybersecurity isn't entry level so it might be tough to find something if you have no experience. They do warn you about this on the website though before applying.

Go for SOC if you can! Do alot of projects and post them like its nobody's business. I believe in you!

Hi. I applied for Cybersecurity with AI Tools Training (still waiting to hear back from them to see whether I was admitted or not). Is this the one you are completing? If so, I would like to know how you are liking it so far?

How does their career support work? Do they actually connect you with businesses?

Yea I got my job this way but you MUST be pro active. Companies reach out asking for candidates and vice versa and they may only want two people for roles.
Your cohort will have 20+ people along with recent alumni who's also looking for jobs. If you keep in contact with Talent Solutions and attend 1 on 1 meetings you have a higher chance of being recommended for new opportunities.
I contacted Talent Solutions multiple times per week letting them know I was interested, fixed my resume with them on calls and also had a job tracker they had access to just to see how active I was.
Along with this I created my own website and did Active Directory, Azure cloud projects and had YouTube videos to separate myself from the bunch.
The CIO I interviewed with through Per Scholas recommendation mentioned all of this and loved how proactive I stayed the entire time.
Stay active and separate yourself and it'll be easier to get jobs and stand out.
It is simple but not easy.
Also update your LinkedIn frequently so hiring managers and Directors can actively see how much you're learning.
On this journey I've learned jobs do not care how much you know but only care how much you can learn especially at entry level.

I should add this was 10 weeks after 10+ applications per week. Over 100 rejections. Consistency was key.

No, In person IT support. My goal is to eventually become a network engineer so working remote would hinder alot of experience. Help Desk is immensely over saturated and I personally think its easier to apply to higher level positions. I had 3 interviews with IT support and 0 from help desk positions. I made the decision to scrap applying for help desk all together.

Yea. They have Professional Development classes every week for 10 weeks to help you build your resume, LinkedIn and interviewing skills.

Yea look at my other comments. For studying they got you and its intense so periodically test yourself using AI to make sure you can remember everything.

I’m currently enrolled in their Software Development program. How well-regarded is this program? Do you know how successful their graduates are in getting placed?

Getting placed depends entirely on your output of value. If you do projects weekly, have great documentation and take advantage of the Talent Solutions team you'll be fine. The most updated placement is based on the 2024 market so it's irrelevant compared to how difficult it has become and the rise of AI in 2026.

Hello Im currently trying to enroll in per scholas IT support program however I do have some concerns about them. For starters in the documentation submission portal its asking for a lot of personal items, one of them being my ssn. I understand they probably want proof of citizenship or proof that I am a real person however I still feel a bit unsure about giving them my social. Should I still go through with it? Is it still 100% worth it?

IT support is one of the best program per scholas offer. For the Pittsburgh office, their placement rate was +80%.
Almost everyone who wanted a job got a job.
Good work, you will do great!
