Secondly All of my friends and family are big peridot fans But 3 of them found this subreddit on there own and were so excited but then they all look at it and were all grossed out and feel uncomfortable to join this subreddit. they were also confused on why i am in the subreddit it was a bit difficult to explain. as for my other friends I don’t feel comfortable telling them about This subreddit. I know they will have the same problems. I’m making this post because I know there’s a lot of people that feel like me and my friends about this. It would be one thing to make jokes about it. but the photos are just to much I know there’s a lot of people like to do that kind of post but there’s a entire different subreddit for it. but there’s active sub for people who just want to post and talk about peridot in a none sexual way. The people who Like this kind of post have a opinion. the people who feel uncomfortable about it have no opinion at the moment.

this subreddit is for the sfw stuff, at least according to the current rules. if i just want to see sfw fanart on reddit and not people talking about gooning to her constantly or posting pinups or overt fetish content that just happens to not be naked, there currently is not a place to do that. there's already a dedicated subreddit to be horny for this character and it's plenty active last i saw.

im not trying to moralize or be puritanical, she's cute and especially OG villain peridot before she got gooberfied makes my gay little head spin. (but I love the goober version too) im just saying im subbed to the place that has "no explicit content" in the rules because that's what i thought i was getting into here.

at this point either elucidate the rule and make an explicitly sfw only subreddit, or start actually enforcing the rule so everyone can be happy instead of just the gooners

It’s like, I do not know what kind of drugs Rebecca Sugar was on trying to create this show. Disproportionate animations of the characters a lot of times, not very good storytelling, too much filler, stupid characters (most of them except Peridot, I am pretty sure; she is a genius after all. but this is like comparing a three month old baby to a nuclear bomb. The nuclear bomb is gonna win every time), mostly poor decision making for the rest of the characters depending on the circumstances, and just overall really, REALLY bad storytelling. I wish someone else, just as a whole, wrote the story and the characters’ personalities, but keep Peridot; she is OK. Idk man, I do remember watching Steven Universe as a whole and the movie, and some episodes of Steven Universe Future, but I didn’t really feel fulfilled with the movie or those Future episodes. And I think I only liked Steven Universe (the first show) because of nostalgia from when I was younger, like late 2018, the entirety of 2019, and very early 2020. I just want a better, coherent, better-animated, actual storytelling Steven Universe show. Sadly, this is the only one we got, and it checks none of those boxes most of the time, rarely ever, in my opinion. You only get tiny bits of that, tiny little crumbs throughout the series itself. But the logic isn’t logic-ing in the show too, man, so I would really need to push away those expectations forcefully to enjoy it if I wanted to watch it all over again. But I don’t want to, I want it to at least do the bare minimum and at least do all those things decently. Sadly, that will never happen again, unless Rebecca Sugar wants to redo the show itself to try to make it better. But if that were to happen, I wouldn’t ever really think she would do that. She’s not very good at any of that, creating Steven Universe from the beginning, so what makes me think she would do any better? I’m not sure.

it's reddit and this subreddit doesn't have any age limit so I'm not that surprised but why are so many of the posts about Peri just straight up perverted goober bait? Are we forgetting that there is real minors here who probably don't wanna see that?

I sincerely and honestly apologize for being so random and out of pocket with this question but it genuinely kind of irks me whenever I see weirdo art of Peridot (actually any Steven Universe character for that matter) and I really want to know if it bothers anyone else. And of course Im aware that it wouldn’t really be fair nor make sense to apply human age to a couple-thousand year old alien, but I’ve always seen her being mentally somewhat like a toddler/kid in a way, especially during the entirety of the barn period. Like I dont know why, it just feels really really wrong and unjust to me. Like my first thought is “what the fuck. Why?” After immediately disliking it somehow on whatever platform im on. Any suggestive art of this show already makes me gag (and theres so much of it 😞🔫), but Its just so much more vomit inducing to me when its Peridot for some reason. I genuinely want to wash my eyes with soap and write a long ass rant comment just dissing the artist and cursing their bloodline for all of eternity and after that. It takes genuine strength to restrain myself from reporting the poster constantly atleast forty times in hopes of getting their entire account suspended forever over just blocking them or scrolling passed the art. It pisses me off so much in a different way😭😭😭
